FOR LOVE

O, the things I’ll do for love!
But not love because to love is to
Commit, and to commit is to be
Attached, and to be attached is to
Shed all freedoms away in
Losing the “self” in losing yourself.

But strange enough do I find,
That there is no liberty in liberty,
Yet in liberty there’s love.

I want that love and therefore I
Want the chains that arrest me,
The shackles which will bind me.
Grant me your prison and I will
Give you my deepest chambers.
This heart, hollow by birth,
Wants not to be filled but to be mended.
Because if walls make good neighbors,
Then chains make good lovers.

So try me in your courts,
Convict me of my crime,
I’m guilty.
